I want to dance.

Life isn't about finding yourself. It's about creating yourself.

Bio
You can get my phone number and address /here/ if you're on my friends list. If you're not on my friends list, you can always request my number through AIM or email and I'll probably give it to you.

I'm a graduate of Umass Amherst (majored in anthropology and minored in Japanese) currently living in Northampton, MA. I'm gregarious while somewhat reserved. I'm a grammar whore but I also embrace colloquial speech and writing, so my journal will not necessarily reflect this. I love comma splices and the occasional run-on sentence. I hate the use of the subject pronoun as an object unless it's me doing it, and I still tend to use the accusative case with the copula. I'm generally pretty opinionated but also very receptive to other viewpoints. Learning anything new makes me happy. My favorite pastime is conversing over tea or coffee. I love meeting new people, so I welcome you to get in touch.

People are fond of quoting Nietszche. I had always thought that Nietszche was a misanthropic ass. This assessment was based on the various quotes that I had come across, but I had never read anything of his within context of his own writing. I then read Thus Spoke Zarathustra, as I wanted to either confirm or undermine my previous impressions. My oversimplified conclusion is that Nietzsche was a misanthropic ass who particularly disliked women.

I asked people to create a profile for me, and /this/ is what they wrote. If you want to add to it, leave a comment on that post. If you've done so, I thank you.

Read /these/ to get to know my views on some things.

There is a pragmatic consideration for the inclusion/exclusion of anyone in particular on my friends list, not a personal one, so I encourage you to add me, even if I don't add you back. There are several on my "friends of" list that I read regularly, even though they are not on my friends list. When I add someone, it's sometimes a long time before I do so. If I'm not on your friends list, I don't read your journal, as it's inconvenient to go searching for it.

"You are one of the most well-spoken individuals it has been my pleasure to
be friends with. I have always enjoyed your ability to explore different
perspectives of situations and see things from many viewpoints, modifying
your own opinion when new information is presented that you deem relevant.
You will always be in my heart and one of my best friends." -K

"Your hugs are pretty rockin'." -B

"You make one sexy pirate." -A
